Southern Washington Volcanos and Lookouts Intro

Between Jun 14 and Jul 5 of 2019, we visited six fire lookout sites with structures in southern Washington. By definition, these fire lookout sites all have stunning views of their surrounding territory which explains their appeal. What we did not expect is how these would highlight the southern volcanos in the state of Washington and in particular Mt Adams, but also Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens and even Mt Hood.

Starting at Satus and Signal peaks, I started recording a panorama video sweep from one lookout per area of each set of visible volcanos. On the subsequent pages of this story, I have included a map showing the sweep of each video. You will find the link to watch each video in the caption below the map.

We started at Satus and Signal peaks on Yakama Nation Land, giving us a stunning look at Adams from the east:
6/14 Satus - 46.2569, -120.7518
6/14 Signal - 46.2268, -121.1370

Two weeks later, we took on Watch and High Rock, the most northerly of the lookouts. Watch, in particular is an arduous journey of 13 miles each way.
6/29 Watch Mtn - 46.57091,-121.98755
6/30 High Rock - 46.68443,-121.90116

Finally, we went all the way south to visit Red in the Indian Heaven Wilderness before finshing our trip at Burley Mtn.
7/4 Red Mtn - 45.9348, -121.8212
7/5 Burley Mtn - 46.4073, -121.8659

Usability notes: These pages are also an exercise in web design using html and css to combine text and pictures in a series of pages to make a "story". From a usability stand point I have included arrows on either side of this content to go forward or back one page in the story.
